Samurai Yabusame Festival

Every year on the 29th April a 900 year old festival is held at Katsuyama on the shores of Lake Kawaguchiko in the Mt Fuji area to honour the bravery of the horsemen samurai archers. It starts with a ceremony in the Fuji Omuro Sengen Shrine and culminates in a competition between the various schools.
