DSC_8854 river crossing.jpg

The Lower Ord River is navigable all year round thanks to the construction of the massive Lake Argyle. From here the Ord flows on to Lake Kununurra, which is the lifeblood to the vast agricultural areas around the town of Kununurra. The diversion dam regulates the water flow to the Lower Ord River, which then stretches another 50km to the coast near Wyndham.
Greg Harman or 'Hairy Dog' as he prefers to be called runs Ultimate Adventures in this beautiful part of the world. It's barra fishing with a twist, both in the way you travel along the river and the way you fish for the barramundi. Hairy Dogs camp is situated some 40km along the Parry's Creek Road near the bend of the Ord. It is a bush style camp setting that affords terrific views of the river and is mainly used for extended tours.
