Dymaxion demonstration
The Dymaxion Car, Number One
which weighed in at, half a ton,
had a wheel at the back and two in front
and a V8 engine to give it “grunt”.
With an idea of “more for less” in mind
his Dymaxion design was “one of a kind”;
its aluminium skin on a frame of ash
was considered by some to be quite brash.
Spectators came from near and far
to see the streamlined concept car,
strut its stuff on the testing track;
and most of them were taken aback.
The photo above showing the car at a Bridgeport “speedway” [sic] is
from The Dymaxion World of Buckminster Fuller by Robert W. Marks,
published by Southern Illinois University Press in 1960.
