almost daily email Year in review (2014)
During the year just passed it was my intent
to ensure that a daily email was sent;
however, as usual, I missed quite a few
having only sent three hundred and two.
Thirty two in June was a veritable feast,
and nine in January; the fewest, the least.
Questions were asked and clues were proposed
and the answers weren’t always as you supposed.
The photos, of course, are your usual fare
with an explanation, and words about where,
the photo was taken, or someone’s quote,
regarding the subject on which I dote .
There were photos of roofs, windows and doors,
stained glass ceilings and tiles on floors.
A castle fort-forecourt, a maritime museum
an iconic bridge and a Prussian Propylaeum,
a boathouse, a pump house and a cottage that,
looked like, we we’re told, “Napoleon’s hat”.
Battleships, Barges, and boats from afar
a ‘Healey, a MG, and a Lancia car,
a seaplane, a hovercraft, an Ekranoplan,
and an Air Crane called Elvis, all made by man.
You’ve seen photos of Maple and Redwood trees,
and a waterlily flower with Honey Bees;
a White Swan taken at Melbourne Zoo
and a Sulphur-crested Cockatoo,
another which came within my ken,
was the Goose known to Chileans as El Caiquén.
You got several photos of Harrison’s clock
and a long distance shot of a Montreal dock;
a Bar Harbour bar called Carmen Verandah
with a limerick that ended with Cha-Cha;
a blown glass sculpture titled The Sun,
and a cast iron lion that must weigh a ton.
