in 1822 a boundary line,
which runs a zigzag course through the “Thousand Islands”,
was agreed upon by The United States and Canada. A year
later Elisha Camp bought the entire group (Thousand Islands),
subdivided them, and proceeded to re-sell them. I am not able
to find out the year Elizur Kirke Hart (New York businessman
and Congressman) bought Hart Island, but he died in 1893, so
his estate must have sold it to George and Louise Boldt in 1895.
