this AP1-88 Hovercraft
was developed, jointly, by British Hovercraft Corporation and
National Research Development Council, who produced and
tested their first prototype in 1982. Hovertravel now produce
and operate hovercraft on their ferry service across the Solent
between Southsea, Portsmouth and Ryde, on the Isle of Wight.
