the Lady Northcott is a
ferry, owned by Sydney Ferries, which operates on the
Mosman Bay and Taronga Zoo routes. She was acquired
in 1974, carries up to 811 passengers, has a length of 43•8
metres, travels at 12 knots and uses 76 litres of fuel per hour.
I found an article (written for the Sydney Morning Herald in 2010)
which bore the headline "What lies ahead for the ageing ladies?"
The article told of a “disposal plan” which Sydney Ferries had
devised to get rid of Lady Northcott and Lady Heron. I took the
above photo in August 2013, so I guess “she” is still around.
