Eastgate. Sun 29.

for around 2000 years,
East gate has been the “main” entrance to the walled city of Chester.
Originally Roman legionaries patrolled this gate, and then after the
“Hotspur” rebellion had been defeated (in July 1403), King Henry lV
chose East Gate to display the remains of Henry ‘hotspur” Percy,
as a warning to other potential traitors. The clock was added in 1899.
