there were two categories of
billycarts in the Brisbane Billycart Championships. The kids from
Toowong State School built a “Traditional” billycart from the plans
which are on the website at; http://www.brisbanebillycarts.com.au.

They built the billy cart themselves, out of recycled wood (the base
was made from old hardwood fence pickets and the pine sides were
made from a discarded bed base). The braking system was made
from a broomstick and the wheels were new. This was done under
the supervision of their teacher, Mr Miller, (that’s him on the left).
