My Mom worked at the Wards drug store just on the other side of Barbers on Houston Street for years til it closed. Oh Gosh the memories! Eatting at Terry's cafe, I got "paid" to do mom's candy inventory so I would take my hard earned cash and go to Terry's and order something, usually their teacakes. Never have found anything better ever since.
And I remember sitting at 8th and Houston many times when mom worked to watch the parades. oh thank you for taking these so that they may never be forgotten.
hey i remember ALL of these places..... and Tandy center mall.. me n my mom used to go there every week!! i miss their skating rink and their trolly to the mal thing they took em out and now im stuck at home....
Always nice to document that which will soon
or sometime soon, vanish from the scene...
My brother lives in Irving so he might be familiar
with these places.

Having grown up in Arlington I remember vividly each of these places.
Thanks for the memories.
