This is what the whole exercise was all about, infant mortality rates. These three graves are for three young children all between 12 and and 15 months old when they died. probably all caused by infectious disease that is related to lack of basic hygiene. Improving the quality of the toilets and promoting handwashing with soap is seen as a effective measure to try and curb this problem.

Great photographs Kees. You and Dorothy are doing good humanitarian work. I suspect that the toilets are only part of the problem. I strongly suspect that the water supply is just as big a part of the problem. It is like the triangle necessary for fire 1. Fuel, 2. Oxygen, 3. Source of ignition. Only in this case 1.Sewerage, 2. Poor water Supply, 3. Opportunistic Parasites, bacteria, viruses, and amoeba
