Boy and Ball, Isle of Capri, 1983

There have been a few times in my career as a photographer
that I have sensed an upcoming image that I needed to be "ready"
for. I wish that it happened more often, but it did this time
and looking at the contact sheet after processing the film I saw
the image. It is obviously not one that I planned or tried to
set up, but for some reason, I knew something was going to happen.

This is an excellent shot. I very much like your style, and the subtle qualities to the image. The shadows created by the archways are simply amazing, as is your composition. I can see why it's in your "favorites" gallery.

The combination of the lines and forms and the surreal appearance of the boy make this a very nice shot. It's a good thing you listened to your photographer's mind!

Decisive surrealism = big vote from me too.

Fantastic. Has a surreal edge to it. Challenges my perception. Like a painting which you want to look at again to get a bit more out of it. Vote.

Exceptional indeed. The position of teh boy's leg and shadow in conjunction with the ball is a Cartier Bresson moment. Well captured!

An exceptional picture. The level of abstraction (shadow of the boy), the ball bouncing, the corridor and its parallel lines and arches, there are so many good things to say about this simple picture. Christine
