I am proud to have been a photographer in the US Navy from 1981-1988.

What you see here is obviously a small part of the things I photographed while in the Navy. Most of the images, I no longer have access to, and many that I have, are not digitized yet.


My first three years were spent aboard the USS INCHON LPH-12, a helicopter carrier, so I spent many hours in helicopters. Sadly the INCHON was purposely sent to the bottom of the ocean in Oct of 2005.

I was fortunate to spend a year at Syracuse University in the Military Photojournalism Program from 84-85.

My last three years were spent at SACLANT, the American NATO Headquarters, in Norfolk, VA.

I was able to see parts of the North Atlantic countries, the Carribean area, and many places in Europe.
One of the really neat things about a site like PBase is that we can travel the world so to speak from our computers, and share ideas and images from other photograhers many countries away. I have never been a ham radio operator, but I can see why they would enjoy putting a pin on the map to represent people they have talked to in other parts of the globe.
