This bridge is on the chopping block with the new one current under construction just to the east. This bridge is a incon of my childhood.

Fondest (Scary Moment) One early morning I was working with the Bettendorf Police Dept., and we got a call on Middle Road just as we were turning around on the Illinois side. The officer topped out the speed of his 1988 Dodge Diplomat at 120 miles per hour for 10 miles across that narrow bridge to where another officer was calling for assistance.
