Rosslyn Chapel was founded on a small hill above Roslin Glen as a Roman Catholic collegiate church in the mid-15th century. Rosslyn Chapel and the nearby Roslin Castle are located at the village of Roslin, Midlothian, Scotland, just south of Edinburgh. The scaffolding is due to restoration work underway at the chapel. The foundation stone of Rosslyn Chapel was laid on St. Matthew's Day, September 21, 1446.
