Two Byelorussian Air Force pilots were killed in front of a hundred thousand spectators during
the 2009 Radom airshow in Poland, when their Su-27 heavy fighter jet crashed into the ground.
They came out too low from a vertical manouver, and then it would appear that they waited too
long before attempting to eject. Apparently it was a close call - according to some estimates,
with another 50 meters of height they would have survived.
The photo, prepared for the state accident investigation board, is an overlay of
seven separate images taken as I followed the aircraft until it disappeared below the tree line.
It was a tragic day - condolences to the families and colleagues of the Pilots.
