Despite the infrequent showers throught the afternoon I had wandered down to The Lagoon on Lord Howe Island just hoping the clouds might break up and provide a sunset (wishful thinking I thought)... there was some colour in the western sky but more importantly the clouds were gathering over Mt Gower to the south.
