As most people would realise much of the eastern part of the country is expereincing unprecedented heavy rain and severe flooding. I'm in Bellingen this week where it has been raining almost continuously since Sunday. Fortunately, I'm staying on high ground and I'm safe and dry (except when I go outside). The Bellnger River which flows through the centre of this town has flooded cutting the town in two. I captured this image of the water over the bridge and road this morning about 9.30am. Loacal people say the river has been known to rise much higher than this in previous floods.
