Grand Teton National Park is located in western Wyoming. Established as a national park on February 26, 1929, it is named after Grand Teton, which at 13,770 ft, the tallest mountain in the Teton Range. The mountains were named by a French trapper - called them "tetons" the French word for breasts (probably referring to the shape of the peaks). The park covers 484 square miles of land and water. For the hikers, there are nearly 200 miles of trails to enjoy.
