This is an actual painting by me. Actually, it was never completed. But this the second step in a watercolor-like oil technique --the tonal underlayer-- over which more realistic colors would have been applied. The theory is, that an underpainting of complementary colors will give more luminescence to the final result if the paints are applied in transparent layers over it.
