I owned Tomahawk in the late 70's. It is a great boat and I am glad she has been restored so well.
I think I might have some of her original construction photos.

I wonder if I might get in touch with Max Kalehoff. He mentioned that he sailed on the Magic Venture. I want to see if that is the vessel built by the Simms Bros. in 1950 to Sparkman & Stephens plans for Mr. Ford. It was my father and uncle who were the Simms brothers. who built her. I remember the vessel very well. I actually worked on this yacht.

Tomahawk is a gorgeous boat! I've grown up playing around on Bounty, being Dan Spradling's nephew. We just took her to Hawaii this last summer. There are pics on my site.

I third Sarah and Jesse Terry. I grew up with Sarah and Jesse on the Magic Venture, which my family owned for about 22 years. Magic Venture is a 52' S&S yawl, and we sold it to Dan Spradling in Sausalito, CA. Here's pictures to Magic Venture, now called Bounty:

I second my brother, jterry, and our good friend Marc, she is beautful. It's nice to also see a touch of the original workings with the portholes, hatches, etc. She looks great!

Nice shots of a great boat beautifully and (it certainly appears) quite thoroughly restored! My hat is off to the owner/restorer's attention to details; such as the un-varnished teak caprail on the otherwise varnished cockpit coaming: quite pleasingly eye catching, practical and traditional. I have known Tomahawk for many years as an owner of my own restored classic Alden Malibar VI Schooner. "jterry" who first posted here-in is an avid sailor as is his slightly older sister, both in their mid-to-upper twenties and both are highly accomplished sailors; having raced aboard my boat I know them to be true afficionatoes of classic boats. Enjoy your well-deserved pride of ownership in a true beauty of the highest pedigree!

My dad owned this boat from 1979 to 1995 in Essex CT USA. It literally brings a tear to my eye to see it restored so carefully and beautifully. Well done. If there are any more pictures I would love to see them. Thank you for sharing.
