The odd, silent weeks of Coronavirus lockdown in the Oxfordshire town of Wallingford needs to have a visual record. Our neighbourhood help group has organised shopping, prescriptions, VE Day celebrations, a book library -- and we all have grown closer as a consequence. For the 75th anniversary of VE Day, people decorated their houses with bunting and turned out on their doorsteps, often with tables and chairs, tablecloths, tea and cake, a ukelele and songs, and much friendliness. Something good out of an unsettling time...as the lockdown lifted, people took to the countryside and the river in a way I've never seen before.
