The Gareloch One Designs of 1924, designed by Ewing McGruer and built at the McGruer boatyard on the Gareloch NW of Glasgow, are a most unusual class. All 16 of the wooden boats built for this class are still in good condition and still sailing on the Gareloch from the Royal Northern Yacht Club. 15 of 16 sailed the week before the 90th anniversary, and nearly as many in the anniversary regatta. A talk by Iain McAllister and a fine dinner for 96 finished off a grand occasion. Prints available, email Kathymansfield@mac.com --
