This is an amazing festival, inspired by the Douarnenez and Brest Festivals of France, displaying over 500 boats and an incredible 220,000 visitors in Hobart, Tasmania -- a stunning setting. Each year it's even better. Book early for February 2017, and enjoy Australian summer weather. In 2015 a new Classic Boat Symposium drew in the crowds with top speakers, a rowing regatta with Iain Oughtred designed St Ayles skiffs added to the excitement, bullocks brought a Peppermint gum tree in traditional style, artisans showed their skills, boat lovers from the world talked together.
