Eight Metre Worlds Norway

The Eight Metre World Championships in Norway attracted 25 boats from Europe and Canada, with Aluette winning the Coppa d'Italia and the newly restored Sira, owned by the Norwegian royal family since being built in 1938, winning for the first time the Sira Cup, donated in 1983. Sira, designed by Johan Anker, has been out of the water for about 25 years, and just returned to racing after a major restoration. She was helmed by King Harald V, three times an Olympic sailor in the 1960/70s.
