GOAT ISLAND is maintained by the New York State Parks Commission.
It is the oldest State Park in the United States .Terrapin Point (far right tip of the island)
is a great location to view the Canadian "Horseshoe" Falls. Goat Island separates the
Canadian and American Falls. In the distance (upper left corner of picture) you van see
a faint outline of the North Grand Island Bridge. This is one of two bridges that allows
access to Grand Island, NY. This picture also shows more clearly the hydro control dam
that diverts and controls the flow of water over the falls. (Bridge like structure in middle of picture)
