Straw is yellow, as in stalks of ripened, combined grain. This is green, so I reckon it's hay, or rather, haylage, on account of it being harvested by this monster - it's cutting it up into short little peices, adn the truck will take it to an upright silo to be blown up into storage there, or it will dump it into a bunker, or trenck silo, where it's packed in and fed out to feeder cattle, or cows... or, in todays farming enviroment, sheep or goats! This haylage has not been dried down like hay is, it has a higher moisture content, thus, when it is packed into storage, it "cures" or ferments a wee bit, and this makes it a staple to feed animals throughout the winter months... These days, most cattle see only this kind of feed, along with grains and maybe a bit of hay for desert! :-)... Why am I spewing all this data out?? :-) - Dave HS -40
