Located in the town centre of Castle Combe. This is
where we stayed the night while in Caslte Combe.
We dined in their restaurant that evening ... again a
wonderful meal of lamb. I definitely had my fill of
lamb while in England.
The covered structure in front of the Inn is the fourteenth-century Market Cross, erected when the privilege to hold a weekly market was granted to Castle Combe. The cross is situated where the three principal streets converge. The stonework in the foreground, sometimes called the Buttercross, was for horseriders to mount and dismount.
