In February 2006, I explored Southern Florida attractions, including, Sanibel Island by bicycle and the Everglades by kayak. A highlight was a guided tour of Big Cypress Preserve, next to the Everglades. I paddled through mangrove tunnels, saw large waterbirds and got close and cozy with alligators.
This bird stood motionless, hoping to pounce on shrimp from a fisherman.

I enjoyed kayaking and it is a great workout
