The City Officials don't care. (with the exception of Brian Gomes)
Linda Morad does not care about wrongdoings in her ward as the residents have been forced to seek help from another councilor.
Linda Morad cared at first. When the mayor, Scott Lang pretended to care for a little while and then decided to ignore the problems - Linda Morad joined the mayor and faded away, ignoring problems in her ward was much easier it seems. In regard to ignoring issues in the city of New Bedford, MA, Practice makes perfect.
With all the contaminated lands in the city of New Bedford and the population with cancer related issues you would think the city officials would step up to the plate and stop these environmental 'mishaps' from happening....But NO. That's not how it works in the city of New Bedford.
The Environmental steward Scott Alphonse was aware of contaminated soils throughout the city since 2003 and has kept the knowledge from the public. Amazingly, this Scott Alphonse remains on the city payroll.
Yep. The taxpayers are paying a guy to withhold life & death information from them and their children. Obviously the mayor condones this as he continues to keep him on staff.
In New Bedford, MA city officials are one of the best political outfits the state has to offer for those interested in participating in corruption.
Funny how they wonder why their city is referred to as "Pit City."
Once again, another week has passed and the elected ones could care less about the safety issues and the health concerns of the residents at Colby Village and the Pulaski School children.
(Again - with the exception of Brian Gomes)
Please note that there is pool going on whereas people are choosing the dates where they surmise when even Brian Gomes falls prey to the New Bedford system of corruption. Hopefully he will be able to garner more concerned individuals on the city council to help solve the issues in ward 1. It was obvious in the last council meeting that Linda Morad and Jane Gonsalves have zero interest in helping to solve the issues. Maybe they are taking their cues from the mayor... you know, with the whole 'leading by example' thing.
