Saw this amazing little bird at Middle Creek Wildlife Refuge yesterday. I first noticed a movement out the corner of my eye, which I could have sworn was a bird, but when I looked, there was nothing in sight. Then I noticed the leafy litter moving around as though there was a mouse or a shrew scurrying beneath. Lo and behold, a bird head appeared, then once again disappeared from view with only the movement of leaves to indicate there was anything there. When he popped up again, I got some shots. Thanks to all that helped with the ID.
