First, I've never owned or even shot an AR type rifle before (only hunting rifles, shotguns, and pistols). So for my first time ever shooting one I decided to slowly build my own. I am studying each part (on line/shops/aquaintances) to learn as much as I can about each piece before making the next purchase.
Here is what I have so far.
-DPMS stripped lower (during these rough times thats all I could find locally)would like a spikes one day
-CMMG lowers kit (watched a video on line and put it in) Pretty easy stuff!! :)
-Troy "Battle Axe" buffer tube/stock kit.
-Magpul grips
-Troy "Battlemag"
-Magpul B.A.D. Lever [Battery Assist Device (Bolt release lever)]
-Magpul MOE trigger guard in FDE on the way
-Magpul FDE MBUS flip up Front and rear sights
-15 black alum C-Products 30rd mags


Looking to get the following:
-Troy TRX ALPHA Battlerail
-undecided on upper and barrel (still studying) thinking aobut LMT or RRA because the local Quanticos carries both and I can special order exactly what I need :) I'd like the LMT but teh RRA will be cheapier and appears to offer a larger variety from viewing their web site.
-Way lost on optics right now!! may end up with a close quarters type optics and a separate scope with quick disconnect to switch back and forth. But I have much more studying to do before even making a real plan. I have the flip up sights so once I get an upper I can enjoy shooting this bad boy!! :)
