The first thing we did after breakfast on Saturday was go to Lao Shan, an old Daoist mountain retreat. It was unbelievably humid, sometimes raining, really tested the weather-proofing of my camera equipment, not to mention letting me reach new levels of sweatiness. But it was really awesome nonetheless.
Foggy mountains.
Quite a tourist attraction.
One of the CIEE guys getting a ride up the mountain.
Mike also decided to get carried up.
There were a LOT of big spiders there.
Cool looking dam.
Good ole chinglish, Lao Shan had a lot of good signs.
The nice lake created by the dam.
Zheng Long in front of the lake.
Misty mountains.
One of the many waterfalls in the area.
More Chinglish.
Another spider.
Even more Chinglish. "Don 'tDon 'tDabble TheWater!"
Cool bamboo canopy over the walkway.
Slug!
The group yelling 'CIEE' and listening for an echo.
An action shot of me, credit to Joyce for snapping this one.
Cool view from high up on the mountain.
Our group, the only ones that made it up this high.
