In April, my roommate, his fiancé, and another friend spent a week in Barcelona. It was a quick trip, but a lot of fun, highlighted by a day trip to Montserrat abbey. The trip's truly special day, however, was the day we went to the Sagrada Familia. It is absolutely a masterpiece in every sense of the word. I have never been so impressed by architecture, and I think that shows in the many shots I took of it.
Later that day, a thief ran off with my entire backpack of camera gear; every lens I own, my camera, and my tripod. Fortunately, he hadn't figured on it weighing nearly 50 lbs, and with the help of a near-Village-People cast of characters including an old Italian man, a French couple engaging in public intercourse, a man walking his dog, and a Spanish construction worker, my roommate and I chased him down and got it all back. It was quite a roller coaster of emotion and adrenaline, but at least it makes a great story and, thankfully, one with a happy ending.
Because I couldn't decide between the 17mm and 24mm tilt/shift lenses, I rented both, and got quite experimental with both. I quite like the results, and I hope you do too!
