Namibia is home to one of the more unique environments in the world - the Etosha Pan. This enormous, barren area is completely dry except for during the height of the rainy season. Standing on the edge and looking over the flat, you feel like you might as well be staring across the surface of the moon as there is not a hint of life. Then you turn around and see herds of impala, zebra and springbok all successfully making a living on the seemingly limited vegetation that borders the pan.
Wildlife viewing centers on the large number of watering holes that dot the southern edge of the pan as sooner or later all the animals will have to stop by to drink.
