Heliotropium species

Taken along the windward coast of the Big Island near Puna, this was one of the first times we had a chance to get out and appreciate the ocean on this trip. These heliotrope plants were common along the coast. We felt much more in tune to the many moods of the ocean while on the island, and big surf while we were there made for some dramatic sights and sounds.
