Precis nigrisifusa
This dark "tropical" buckeye is one of those we get in our yard in Arizona. This one was nectaring on lantana in one of the butterfly gardens at Santa Ana NWR. I was shooting bird pics at the time, and had to make do with a 300mm F2.8 lens and a 2X converter for this shot, as the macro lens was back at our trailer.
