Lycaena gorgon

There was one area with a lot of steep hilly topography where 4 little canyon bottoms in a row along our survey route had a few of these coppers hanging around toward the end of our survey season. Usually we found these nectaring on annuals like popcorn flower in close proximity to their larval host plant elongate buckwheat (Eriogonum elongatum).
