Pontia protodice larva feeding on Ericameria linearifolia

We were able to find a number of species of butterfly caterpillars this spring. However, this was the first time we'd seen this species of butterfly larva on this particular species of plant. It had a particular fondness for the flowers themselves, not the leaves. You just never know what you'll find until you get out there and discover it for yourself.
