Wonderful texture and clarity. V I use Flickr to share some photos with people in a photo club I belong too but i don't get many other views. I have a Zenfolio site too but I haven't used it in a while. I would have a hard time giving up Pbase.
I am surprised to see a brown leaf already, Jim! Stunning superb details. VV As you know I have already joined Fotocommunity to run alongside PBase to see how things go!
Is this image meant to be the end of PBase for you - I sure hope not. I would miss all the fabulous photo friends I have made here and I don't think we'll find another site as good despite the problems of late.
Lovely autumnal scene Jim! I sure don't want to leave Pbase either. I have made many wonderful friends here and have learned so much about photography from the experts! Yes, Pbase has its problems but I doubt there is such a thing as a "perfect" site.
is this Winter trying to tell us something? very nice detail on this Jim. RE: another site question - I do have a website with Zenfolio, but it is a challenge driving people to look at it. I do think Pbase has it's benefits and the people here are genuinely nice people. That in itself is something of great value in this day and age.
Brown already... fall has so many interesting leaves. Nice shot. I don't have any intention of leaving Pbase. I really haven't had many issues. I have almost 3 million hits and 7k photos. I have a Flicker account and don't like it, too hard to navigate and little customizations. Once a year Pbase has a glitch. I can deal with that. This time, I knew they changed servers so I waited a few days, cleared my cache and logged out and in and everything ran great. No delays. I agree that they aren't the best at customer service. I wish that would get better.
Hi Jim, I pretty much feel the same way as Walter. The traffic , as well as the friendships, would be very difficult to replace. I'm staying put and hope you do too!!!!
Great clarity and detail. The colors are beautiful. To answer your question Jim, I currently have sites with flickr and 500px that get virtually no traffic. During the great PBase outage of 2009 I had a smugmug site and did not like it, again, little traffic. I have had sites on zenfolion, picassa, and others and did not like any of them. I have a photo website for two reasons, for people to look at the images and to interact with the many friends I have made here over the years. I currently have over 13,000 photos on my PBase site, have had over 6 1/2 million hits and am nearing 150,000 comments. No matter where I move I am not going to get that, and getting that here has taken a lot of time and effort on my part. PBase works for me most of the time and when I have had to communicate something urgent Emily has always answered me. Sure things could be better, but the only way I'll move is if I find something better or if PBase goes down permanently.
Beautiful detail, and I like how the leaf appears to be glowing. I don't know if there really is another site that has the advantages of Pbase (when it works). I might consider it, but the idea of moving is simply exhausting to me.
