Just coming back on your note about 'darkness', Jim.
This shot looks just a tad dark to me. I think the whites on the wings of the fly could be just a little brighter.
But then there's not guarantee that my monitor is perfectly calibrated.
How do everyone else's shot look on your monitor? A little dark, or just right?
That ought to be a reasonable test.
The more you see that look a little dark, the great the likelihood that it's your monitor and not everyone else's.
