White Ibis (Immature) River Port Rd Sloughes, Ensley Bottoms

On late afternoon of Thursday August 2, 2012 approx 430pm, I observed 16 White Ibis (Immature) in the two most eastern ponds of the RiverPort rd slough system down in Ensley Bottoms. They were feeding with a large mixed flock of waders (Great Egrets, Snowy Egrets, Little Blue Herons, Green Herons, Great Blue herons and a Black-crowned Night Heron) in the sloughes that are rapidly drying up due to the drought. I alerted Jeff Wilson, who in turn alerted Gail King. By the the time night fall sent all home a total of 22 of the White Ibis (IM) had been counted as they began to move from one slough to another.
