This was afternoon of the second day when some people got out of their car and this one spooked. He flew out and back into the thicket and at this point was sitting about 5' above two Great-horned Owls and looking to see if me and my camera were any threat from inside my truck. This is the only time any one of the 11 Barn Owls opened their eyes wider than a slit. I would love to have had a closer unobstructed shot on this.
