Syrphid Fly (Sphaerophoria ?)

Spanaway, Washington

Syrphidae,Syrphinae,Syrphini,Sphaerophoria ? What's it all mean? Somehow, this tells somebody what this bug is, almost, that's the question mark.
What I know is that it is about 1/4" long and wide, give or take a tad. I had trouble seeing it without magnification in the bright light.
I had to stay 47" back with this lens to focus but could have gotten closer with a macro. I'm still trying to figure what that means in image size.
