These pictures were taken in the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest near LaGrande, Oregon. The forest service has several nesting platforms set up for the owls and have given each site a name.
They publish the names and locations in a handout, and as long as good sense is used the birds tolerate lookers and photographers quite well. These pictures are from the Spring and Spook sites.
