Scotland, with its highland lochs and castles, has long been a prime desination for nature lovers. What impressed me most during my brief tour there is good vegetation cover at rugged places. The nights are long and the waters of the lochs have brownish colour, and the castles are more like citadels. The lake district of England, with several strange-sounding lakes, such as Ullswater and Windermere, is a charming place for families.
