Montreal, the capital of Quebec, Canada, is a bustling metropol of 3 million people. It is located on an island between the Ottawa and St. Lawrance Rivers. Longtime a Huron Indian settlement, it was visted by French explorer Jacques Cartier of St. Malo in 1535 and went on to become the centre of French settlement.
