On a recent ferry trip I spotted some seagulls that had flown far out to sea following the boat. The reason soon became clear; people were hand feeding them from the deck. While the food may not have been the healthiest the gull were certainly getting their exercise; swooping down on hand-held tidbits or catching them in mid-air. They're impressively agile flyers and trying to snap photos of them was an interesting exercise in timing.
