Post-Tsunami Onagawa 女川町

Onagawa copped some of the worst of the tsunami on March 11, with waves around 30m. After nearly seven months much (most?) of the rubble has been cleared away, but there is still the freaky sight of 4 or 5 storey concrete buildings not only knocked over but washed meters from their foundations. Its hard to get a feeling for the human dimension of the tsunami just from the structural damage, but for an idea of the height ... among the survivors were two of the staff in the town hall who climbed the flagpole.
