Outstanding macro, Juliette. I wondered if this was a variety of cricket and confirmed that it is using the Latin name you provided. Great detail, color, and composition. The focus on the eyes engages the cricket and the viewer with one another. I also like orientation of the cricket on the photo-- on a slight diagonal starting toward the right and moving down toward the lower bottom with the eyes right in the middle for that focus on the eyes. I also like the progressive blur of the left hind and middle legs and the left antenna as they extend out toward the far edge of the leaf. This adds some nice depth to this image. And, I also like that only a part of the leaf is in focus while the background area is slightly blurred. This gives the viewer a nice reference point for where the cricket is.
